Student Leaders from Zimmerman Middle and Zimmerman High Schools Honored at October Board Meeting

ZHS students are honored by Dr. ROck

The ISD 728 School Board and our building leaders continue the tradition of recognizing outstanding students who stand out as leaders in their respective schools.

Students are nominated by building administrators, teachers or staff and then honored with a photo and certificate at a designated Board meeting throughout the year. Zimmerman, as is tradition, kicked things off for the 2025-2026 School Year.

Here are the honorees from the middle and high schools:

Zimmerman Middle School

Middle School:

Emmalee Johnson

Emmalee is a fantastic student and person.  As a student she is constantly trying to help her classmates in class when they don’t understand things.  She is always greeting people in the halls and classroom, making them feel welcome.  It is obvious that Emmalee cares about her classmates and her school as well.  She is a wonderful role model and we are fortunate to have her in our school.

Bennett Mielke

Bennett is a student whose reliability, positive attitude, and commitment to excellence make him a standout among his peers. He consistently demonstrates responsibility by following through on tasks and being someone others can depend on. He approaches every activity with full participation, giving his best effort no matter the challenge. His willingness to engage wholeheartedly not only strengthens his own growth but also inspires those around him. Bennett sets a strong example for his classmates, serving as a role model through his actions, attitude, and leadership.

Student Leaders from Zimmerman Middle School

High School:

Lily Johnson

Lily is an exceptional member of our school community and truly embodies what it means to live the Thunder Way.  She is a three sport athlete, a committed musician in our Wind Symphony, and consistently goes above and beyond in her academics.  She consistently brings positivity wherever she goes and always leads by example.  It’s clear she cares about her own success and is committed to lifting up those around her.  We’re lucky to have her in our school!

Madison Fisher

Madison is a great role model for ZMHS students. She sets very high standards for herself, and works hard to achieve them. In the classroom, she challenges herself to high-rigor courses this year by taking two AP classes as well as College Algebra. Her extra curricular activities include cross country running and skiing. Both in the classroom and out, she mentors younger students by helping them set high goals for themselves and gently pushing them to be the best they can be. Madison is highly respected by peers and adults in the building because she is a woman of integrity, kindness, wisdom and humor.
