ZHS Scholarships

Our Local Scholarships are funded by donations from community organizations, businesses, schools and individuals. We are very thankful for their continuous support!  For eligibility requirements and information about each of the local scholarships, please refer to the ZHS Local Scholarships Newsletter towards the bottom of this page. Click the Scholarship Application link below to apply. 

 

ZIMMERMAN HIGH SCHOOL LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS-   APPLICATIONS ARE DUE MONDAY MARCH 2ND, 2026 BY THE END OF THE SCHOOL DAY.  LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.   All Recipients will be notified of Scholarship Awards received in early May. The Zimmerman Senior Scholarship Night will take place on Wednesday May 13th 2026 in the Auditorium starting at 6:00PM. The High School Awards Night will follow at about 7:00PM.  To apply for the 2025-2026 Zimmerman High School Local Scholarships; click the following link.    HELPFUL TIP-  This online application is a website, so once you close it, anything you typed in it is gone forever. I recommend typing up your information in a Google or Word Doc;  then when you have everything ready to go you can copy-paste all of that into this application and submit.

The college that you end up attending is normally where you receive the largest amount of scholarship funds. For some colleges, applying to the college serves as your scholarship application to that particular college. Other colleges have you complete a separate specific Scholarship Application found on their website. State/National Scholarships

NEW State of Minnesota program-    The North Star Promise Scholarship-   This program will create a tuition and fee-free pathway to higher education for eligible Minnesota Residents at eligible institutions by covering the balance of tuition and fees remaining after other scholarships, grants, stipends and tuition waivers have been applied.  The main criteria that you need to meet to receive this is: 

  • Are a Minnesota Resident
  • Have a family Adjusted Gross Income* (AGI) as reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) below $80,000.  Typically the FAFSA Financial Aid application opens up Online in October:   https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
  • Attend a Minnesota public higher education institution

Also by logging into your MCIS account through "Rapid Identity"; there are many scholarships that you can apply for; and some of them are specific to students in Minnesota. 

Questbridge.org-   National Organization that you can apply to qualify for full Scholarships to various prestigious colleges across the Country.  They look for high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds.  The deadline to apply is typically in late September. 

The following link is to setup a student account for a program called "RaiseMe" where certain colleges award "micro-scholarships" to students in grades 9-12 when the student achieves various goals. You aren't competing against other students for these scholarships. As long as you accomplish certain tasks while in high school; you automatically start earning funds to go toward colleges that have partnered with RaiseMe.  There are some Minnesota colleges participating in this program. EREA Scholarship Application      (Parent must be a member of the Elk River Education Association.  Deadline to hand-in to Mr. Stoermann in the Office is Thursday March 12th 2026 by the end of the school day.  Senior Student isn't required to be attending an ISD 728 High School.)

Gradient Technology Science and Engineering Scholarship Application  -  deadline to give to Mr. Stoermann to be determined; but likely will be in early March

Paraprofessional / Assistant Scholarship      (Parent must work in ISD 728 as a Para / Assistant and be a Union member. Hand-in to Mr. Stoermann.)
